What are link building services?

A link building service is an agency or provider that earns backlinks to your website from other sites on your behalf. Backlinks remain one of Google’s core ranking signals and the original basis of the PageRank algorithm – they act as third-party votes of confidence that tell search engines your pages are credible enough to rank.

Modern link building services do more than acquire links. They analyse your backlink gaps against ranking competitors, identify which pages deserve authority, secure editorial placements on relevant publications through manual outreach, and report on what each link actually moved. Common tactics include digital PR, guest posting, editorial link insertions, unlinked mention reclamation, broken link building, and resource page link building.

Two things separate a real link building service from a link vendor. The first is editorial placement: links earned inside genuine content on sites with real audiences, not paid slots on sites that exist to sell links. The second is relevance: a DR 50 link from a publication in your vertical will outperform a DR 80 link from an unrelated blog, because relevance is what search engines and LLMs use to understand what your brand is about.

Does link building still work in 2026?

Yes. Links are still one of the clearest authority signals Google has, and they now carry a second job: AI Overviews and LLM answers draw disproportionately from sources that are widely cited across the open web. What has changed is that volume and Domain Rating alone no longer move rankings. Relevance, editorial context, and entity association do.

How much do link building services cost?

Across the market, managed link building retainers typically run from around $3,000 per month for entry-level campaigns to $15,000+ per month for enterprise and regulated verticals. Marketplace links sell for far less, but that pricing reflects what they are. Our campaigns start at [INSERT MINIMUM MONTHLY ENGAGEMENT] and are scoped to link volume, vertical difficulty, and content requirements.

How long until link building shows results?

Most of our clients see early traction within 6 to 12 weeks: impressions and branded search volume rise first, then rankings on target commercial pages. Compounding gains appear from month four onward as link equity distributes internally and your brand starts appearing alongside the entities Google already trusts in your category.

Our link building services

We do not sell a fixed package of links. We select the tactics that match your vertical, your existing link profile, and the pages that need to rank. Most campaigns combine three or four of the following.

Digital PR Link Building

We pitch original data, surveys, and expert commentary to journalists and editors at publications your buyers already read. Digital PR earns the highest-authority placements available and the strongest co-citation signals, because your brand ends up named alongside the other trusted entities in your category. Best for brands that need both authority and AI search visibility.

Guest Post Link Building

Original articles placed on industry-relevant publications through manual editorial outreach. Every topic is drawn from your topical map so the host page shares subject matter with the page it links to. We write to the publisher's standard, not to a template, and we never place on sites that exist to host guest posts.

Editorial Link Insertions and Niche Edits

Contextual links added to existing, already-indexed articles that rank and receive traffic. Because the host page has accumulated authority and engagement, insertions often pass value faster than new content. We only pursue insertions where the link genuinely improves the article, and we verify the page's traffic and ranking keywords first.

Unlinked Mention Reclamation

If your brand is already being referenced across the web without a link, that is authority you have earned and are not collecting. We audit brand mentions, prioritise the pages worth pursuing, and run personalised outreach to convert them into live links. Fast, low-risk, and highest yield for established brands with existing press coverage.

Broken Link Building

We find pages in your industry linking out to dead URLs, match them against assets on your site, and offer publishers a working replacement. It is one of the few tactics where the outreach is a genuine favour, which is why acceptance rates are high and the placements are durable.

Resource Page and Linkable Asset Link Building

Some pages earn links on merit. We identify which assets you already have that qualify, develop new ones where there is a gap - original data, calculators, industry guides - and promote them to curated resource pages and roundups. This is how you build a link profile that keeps growing after the campaign ends.

White Label Link Building

Full link acquisition delivered under your agency's brand, with reports you can forward to clients as-is. We plug into your workflow, match your internal link quality thresholds, and scale across 5 or 50 accounts without you carrying outreach headcount.

White Label Link Building Services

Backlink Audit and Link Gap Analysis

Before we build anything, we map what your competitors have that you do not, and flag anything in your existing profile that is a liability. You get a prioritised link gap report, a risk assessment of your current backlinks, and a disavow file if one is warranted. Available as a standalone engagement.

Get A Custom Link Plan

How our link building campaigns work

Five stages. No black boxes. You see every prospect list, every placement, and every decision behind them.

01

Link Gap and Backlink Audit

We benchmark your backlink profile against the sites currently ranking for your commercial terms. You get the referring domains they have that you do not, the link types driving their rankings, their anchor distribution and velocity, plus a risk flag on anything toxic already pointing at you.

02

Topical Map and Target Page Selection

We map your site’s topic clusters and decide which commercial pages, pillar pages, and supporting assets earn links – and in what order. Anchor text is planned at this stage, mapped to your internal link structure rather than chosen link by link.

03

Prospecting and Manual Vetting

Every candidate domain is reviewed by a strategist against our quality standards: topical relevance, organic traffic, indexation, outbound link patterns, and entity proximity to your brand. Sites that fail are rejected before outreach, not after placement.

04

Outreach, Content and Placement

Handcrafted outreach from named team members, not sequenced blasts. Where content is required we write it to the publisher’s editorial standard. Every placement is checked live for anchor, context, indexation, and link attribute before it enters your report.

05

Reporting and Strategy Refinement

Monthly reporting on live URLs, anchors, referring domain metrics, and – more importantly – what moved: target page rankings, branded search volume, and topic-level share of voice. Each cycle feeds the next round of targeting.

Custom Link Building for Brands and In-House SEO Teams

We support a range of businesses - each with unique SEO goals, internal resources, and growth timelines. Our link building campaigns are built to align with your SEO maturity and scale requirements.

SEO Agencies

Agencies trust us to deliver links that align with their internal link metrics, allowing them to focus on strategy, client management, and acquisition. We integrate directly into your workflow, providing editorial links without the outreach overhead. You get links that match your client's niche, clean reports you can forward as-is, and campaigns that scale across 5 or 50 clients. Agencies choose us for flexible link volume, consistent delivery, prompt communication, and seamless white-label support.

White Label Link Building Services

In-House SEO Teams

You know what needs to rank. We help it rank faster by closing link gaps and supporting your internal content, best for commercial pages, with quality, context-rich backlinks from domains your brand wants to associate with. You get link gap analysis against your top competitors, links to strategic commercial pages, and anchor text variation that reflects your entity model. We support your SEO strategy with link strategy recommendations and controlled link velocity.

SaaS Link Building Services

Local and Small Businesses

For local business owners, we build links that move the needle - visibility, rankings, and brand reputation within your target geography. We secure mentions in localised blogs, regional publications, and community resources, and support your map-pack presence with geo-relevant anchors and consistent brand citations. Whether you are a dentist in Dallas or a plumbing company in Seattle, we help you get discovered.

Attorney Link Building Services

Enterprise Brands

We work with enterprise brands and large content teams to scale link acquisition without sacrificing control. We are accustomed to established corporate structures, brand standards, legal review, and multi-stakeholder reporting. Every link aligns with your brand and supports topical authority across multiple pages, not a single campaign, with placements on trusted publications that increase visibility in AI Overviews and LLM answers.

Don't Hand Over Your Business to a Junior SEO

Too many companies and agencies hand link building to junior freelancers or churn-and-burn link sellers. The result: junk links, campaigns that do not move rankings or brand visibility, and in the worst cases, manual actions and algorithmic devaluation.

Led by Strategists, Not Task Queues

Your links are acquired by SEOs who understand what needs to rank and why. Every campaign is led by a senior strategist with full-stack SEO experience, and every team member who touches your account is named in your onboarding document. No anonymous fulfilment layer. No junior link builders blasting templated emails. We handcraft every outreach, vet every site, and review every placement for quality and context, because your brand reputation is the thing actually at stake.

Tuned For Your Market

We build links with your target customers in mind. That means publishers, blogs, and media outlets that carry weight in your region and your vertical, not random .coms with inflated metrics. If you want to rank a plumbing business in Texas, we do not hand you a link from an Auckland lifestyle blog. We also structure anchors to support both organic and map-based rankings, so you show up for local product and service queries as well as national ones.

Link Building That Serves Business Goals

We prioritise links to commercial intent pages and service pages, because rankings that do not convert are not results. We measure performance by branded search movement, topic-level share of voice, and long-term search equity - not by how many links you bought or what the average DR was. Link development is only valuable if it helps you get discovered, trusted, and chosen.

Sharp Thinking. Clean Execution. Zero Fluff.

We apply deep, thoughtful strategy, then execute with precision. Every outreach campaign is guided by your topical map, so links contribute to semantic authority instead of scattering it. Our reporting shows link status and ranking impact, not vanity metrics. You will always know how your links are working and exactly where they are placed.

We measure what Google values - not just Domain Rating.

Most link building agencies obsess over vanity metrics that do not reflect impact. Here are the standards every prospect has to clear before we pitch it, and the thresholds we hold them to.

Topical Relevance of the Linking Page

We examine the content theme of the hosting page and its semantic relationship to your target page, and whether the referring domain holds topical authority in that vertical. Our threshold: the linking page must sit in the same topic cluster as your target page, and the domain must already rank in the top 20 for at least [INSERT NUMBER] keywords relevant to your category.

Indexation and Crawl Status

If a link is not indexed it is invisible to search engines, to search users, and to the systems training on the open web. Our threshold: we confirm the placement is live, crawlable, and returns 200, then verify indexation within 30 days. Anything that fails to index is chased with the publisher and, if it stays unindexed, replaced at no cost to you.

Traffic and Link Profile of the Referring Page

A page with real backlinks and real traffic passes more trust than a high-DR page nobody visits. Our threshold: minimum [INSERT NUMBER] monthly organic sessions to the referring domain, a live and growing content publishing schedule, and no sign of the traffic being driven by unrelated or manipulated queries.

Anchor Text and Placement Context

We analyse where and how the anchor appears: whether it sits naturally in the body, whether it matches the surrounding sentence and topic, and whether it supports your internal link structure. Our threshold: in-content placement only - never author bios, footers, sidebars, or sponsored blocks - with exact-match anchors capped at [INSERT PERCENTAGE] of any campaign.

Entity Connections and Semantic Closeness

We prioritise domains semantically connected to your niche, because that is what strengthens your entity cloud and supports your Knowledge Graph profile. Our threshold: the linking content must share at least one confirmed entity with your category - a competitor, complementary product, recognised publication, or industry body - so the placement reinforces your position in the link graph rather than diluting it.

Automatic Disqualifiers

A site is rejected outright if it carries a public write-for-us or paid-post price list, hosts unrelated casino, CBD, or adult content, shows an outbound link ratio consistent with a link farm, has a traffic curve inconsistent with its DR, or sits inside a network we have already identified. Roughly [INSERT PERCENTAGE] of prospects we review never reach outreach.

Book A Strategy Call

Pricing and engagement models

We scope every campaign, but we will not make you sit through a sales call to find out whether you can afford us. Here is how pricing actually works.

Ongoing Managed Campaign

Our core engagement. Monthly link acquisition against a rolling strategy, with a dedicated strategist, agreed link volume bands, and full reporting. From [INSERT PRICE] per month. Minimum commitment: [INSERT TERM]. Most clients running competitive commercial terms sit in the [INSERT RANGE] band.

One-Time Link Gap and Backlink Audit

A standalone diagnostic: competitor link gap, toxic link review, disavow file, target page priority list, and a 12-month link roadmap you can execute yourself or hand to another provider. Fixed fee of [INSERT PRICE]. Credited against your first month if you go on to run a campaign with us.

White Label and Agency Partnership

Volume-based agency pricing across multiple client accounts, with reports delivered under your brand. Rates scale with monthly link commitment across the portfolio, not per account. From [INSERT PRICE] per link at [INSERT VOLUME] links per month.

What drives the price up or down: the competitiveness of your vertical, whether placements require original content or can use existing assets, the authority band you need to compete at, how much of the outreach is digital PR versus editorial placement, and whether the campaign is regulated (finance, health, legal) and therefore requires slower, more selective sourcing.

What we do not do: per-link menu pricing from a fixed inventory list, pay-per-placement marketplace resale, or contracts that lock you in beyond the point where the work should be proving itself.

What you actually receive

You should never have to ask what you paid for. Here is exactly what lands in your inbox and when.

Onboarding Deliverables

Link gap analysis against your named competitors, backlink risk review, target page priority list, anchor text plan mapped to your internal linking, and your campaign roadmap. Delivered within [INSERT NUMBER] business days of kickoff, before any outreach begins.

Monthly Link Report

Every live URL, the target page it points to, the exact anchor used, publish date, referring domain DR and organic traffic, indexation status, and link attribute. Exportable and clean enough to forward to a client or a CFO without editing.

Impact Reporting

Separate from the link log: movement on your target commercial pages, branded search impressions, topic-level share of voice, and referring domain growth against the competitor set we benchmarked at kickoff. This is the report we judge ourselves on.

Our Replacement Guarantee

If a link is removed, the page is deindexed, or the attribute changes within [INSERT PERIOD] of placement, we replace it with an equivalent or better placement at no cost. We monitor placements automatically rather than waiting for you to notice.

Communication: Slack, email, or your project tool of choice. A named strategist, not a shared inbox. Response within [INSERT TIMEFRAME] on business days, monthly review call, quarterly strategy reset.

More Than a Buy-and-Sell Link Marketplace

Most link providers sell DR scores and vague promises. We build contextual and authoritative links - every link we place is part of a broader SEO strategy tied to your brand's identity, target pages, and topic clusters.

Link Gap Analysis

We analyse the backlink profiles of your top-ranking competitors to identify what they have and what you are missing, then reverse-engineer a smarter, safer path to outrank them. We examine competitor link sources, content types, link velocity, and anchor trends. The goal is not to copy the profile - it is to outperform it with fewer, better-placed links.

Co-Citation From Related Entities

Instead of chasing links from any generic high-DR site, we target domains that already rank for related entities. These co-citation links change how search engines associate your brand with topics and content verticals, building topical trust and semantic proximity and increasing visibility in AI Overviews and LLM answers. Co-citation is one of the most overlooked signals in modern SEO, and we leverage it deliberately.

Anchor Text Variation That Supports Internal Linking

Every anchor is mapped to your internal content structure. We balance brand anchors with partial and exact-match phrases so they align with both the linking page's context and your own page's topic. Conservative but strategic: it strengthens internal topic flow and gives pillar pages the boost they need without tripping anchor over-optimisation.

Aligned With Google's Entity Understanding

We build links to reinforce how your site is surfaced in Google's Knowledge Graph, connecting you to relevant entities, people, services, and categories, improving semantic relationships across your domain, and helping search engines see your expertise and authority. The best links do not just pass authority - they position you inside the knowledge system.

Link building services to avoid

Some of these will cost you a manual action. Most will simply cost you the budget with nothing to show for it. If you are evaluating providers, use this as your screening list - including on us.

Private blog networks (PBNs). Clusters of sites that exist purely to sell links. Google has been deindexing them at scale for over a decade. Any ranking lift is borrowed, and it disappears with the next update – usually taking legitimate rankings with it.

Pay-per-link marketplaces. Inventory sold to everyone at once, on sites whose entire business model is link placement. Google can identify these patterns from the outbound link footprint alone, and increasingly just discounts them to zero rather than penalising – which means you never even find out it failed.

Guaranteed DR or DA targets. Domain metrics are third-party estimates and trivially inflatable. Any provider promising a specific DR is telling you which metric they optimise for, and it is not rankings.

Bulk packages priced per link. If a provider can quote you a fixed price per link before seeing your site, they are selling from an inventory list rather than building a strategy. The links may be real; they are just not relevant to you specifically.

Automated outreach at volume. Software that pitches thousands of sites is optimising for reply rate, not placement quality. It also burns the publisher relationships that make good link building possible for everyone.

Reciprocal and link-exchange schemes. Including the modern versions dressed up as partnerships, content collaborations, or link swaps in private Slack groups. Google has targeted these since its earliest algorithm updates.

Providers who will not show you the domain before placement. This is the single most reliable red flag. If a service cannot show you where a link is going, or at minimum comparable samples in your niche, assume there is a reason.

Agency, marketplace, freelancer, or in-house?

Four ways to get links. Each one is right for someone. Here is an honest read on which is right for you.

Option Typical cost Best for Main trade-off
Link marketplace Low per link Testing a vertical, or filling volume on low-stakes properties Inventory is sold to everyone; no strategy layer; relevance is coincidental
Freelance link builder Low to mid retainer Single-site owners with time to manage the work directly Capacity ceiling; no bench if they leave; quality varies by individual
In-house hire Full salary plus tooling Brands publishing constantly with an existing PR function 12+ months to build publisher relationships from scratch; single point of failure
Specialist agency Mid to high retainer Competitive commercial terms where link quality is the constraint Costs more per link than a marketplace; requires a real commitment window

When we are the wrong choice: if you need 50 links next month at the lowest possible unit cost, a marketplace will serve you better and we will tell you so. If your pages are not yet good enough to deserve to rank, links will not fix that, and we would rather you fix the content first. If your budget is under [INSERT MINIMUM], you will get more from a one-time audit and a roadmap than from a thin monthly campaign.

What to ask any provider before signing: Can I see the domain before placement? What happens if a link is removed? Who specifically does the outreach and where are they based? What is your rejection rate on prospects? What metric will you report success against in month six?

Why AI-Era SEO Needs Smarter Links

As search shifts toward AI-generated answers, the old playbook - Domain Rating and link count - is no longer enough. To be visible in AI Overviews and LLM responses, your backlinks have to do more than cast a vote. They have to help search systems understand who you are and what you are for. Here is how we build for that.

Reinforce Your Brand's Entity Footprint

Search engines rely on entities - people, organisations, topics, places - to interpret and rank results through contextual understanding. We build links that connect your brand to the relevant entities in your niche, helping LLMs and AI Overviews place your business correctly in the category.

Support Topic Cluster Coverage

AI systems evaluate topical authority both on-site (the coverage and relevance of your own content) and off-site (which entities and sites link to and mention your brand). We build to both your main commercial pages and the supporting content around them - how-tos, guides, case studies - so the cluster holds together.

Prioritise Semantic Relevance Over DR

A highly contextual placement routinely outperforms a DR80+ link from a generic blog. Every backlink we generate shares topic relevance with the page it points to, strengthening semantic proximity and helping Google identify your site as a credible source within a defined subject area.

Improve Co-Citation and Brand Mentions

Co-citation happens when your brand appears on pages alongside known, trusted entities. These indirect signals strengthen authority even without a direct link. We place your brand near complementary brands, tools, roundups, and listicles, which is exactly the pattern that makes you eligible for inclusion in AI-generated summaries.

Build Links That Train Search AI to Trust You

Links from vetted, editorially sound, authoritative sources put you into the datasets that inform LLM outputs. We secure placements that are crawlable, indexable, and surrounded by high-quality content, which is what raises the odds of surfacing in conversational and voice search responses.

A Message From Our Founder

venchito-tampon

I did not start Link Building Services IO to become another link building agency.

I built it after seeing how often businesses were pushed into tactics they did not fully understand – links built for volume, reports built for optics, and strategies disconnected from how search actually works.

Most campaigns failed not because of effort, but because they lacked intent, relevance, and long-term thinking.

That is where we are different.

We work closely with a limited number of clients, stay directly involved in execution, and treat every campaign as if it were our own property. No outsourcing blind spots. No generic processes. No shortcuts that compromise authority.

Success for us is not a spreadsheet of link placements.

It is durable rankings, compounding visibility, and authority that holds – even as algorithms change.

That is the standard we built this practice on, and the one we continue to operate by.

Frequently Unasked Questions

These are the things you're thinking, but no one puts on the brief. So we did.

Book A Strategy Call

Look for alignment on strategy and execution – that is what prevents mismanaged expectations and protects your brand reputation. It also helps enormously if they produce stakeholder-ready reporting, so you are not rebuilding their output before every internal update.

Yes. We are built for scale – we plug into your process and deliver quality backlinks at a consistent volume you can forecast against, with white-label reporting your account managers can forward directly.

We balance branded, partial-match, and topical anchors to reinforce context rather than chase exact-match volume. Distribution is planned at campaign level against your existing profile, not decided link by link, which is how most sites end up over-optimised without noticing.

Co-citation is central to how we execute. Placing your brand alongside complementary entities builds topical trust and semantic association, and those are the signals that determine whether you get named in AI-generated answers rather than just ranked beneath them.

We prioritise pages by commercial value and topical fit. To decide, we review your topical page inventory, current ranking keywords, page-level authority, organic traffic, and brand signals – then sequence so that early links support the pages closest to converting.

Oversold, detectable, and usually off-topic. Google can spot the footprint and increasingly just devalues these links to zero, which is worse than a penalty because you never find out. We do not use them.

Then we complement it rather than duplicate it. You are the experts in your field, so we work with your in-house team to produce external content that earns placements, and we point links at the assets your team is already investing in.

Both, but we are best known for earning placements that point at product and service pages. That is the harder job and the one that affects revenue – most providers default to blog content because it is easier to place.

Link Building Services FAQ

The questions buyers actually search for before they hire anyone.

A link building service is an agency or provider that earns backlinks to your website from other sites on your behalf. The work typically covers competitor backlink analysis, prospect research, content creation where required, manual outreach to publishers, placement, and reporting. Tactics include digital PR, guest posting, editorial link insertions, unlinked mention reclamation, broken link building, and resource page link building.

Managed campaigns across the market generally run from around $3,000 per month at entry level to $15,000+ per month for enterprise and regulated verticals. Individual placements from marketplaces sell for far less, but the pricing reflects the quality. Our engagements start at [INSERT PRICE] per month, scoped to your vertical, link volume, and content requirements. See our link building packages.

Yes. Backlinks remain one of Google’s clearest authority signals and the foundation of PageRank, and they now carry an additional role: AI Overviews and LLM answers draw heavily on sources that are widely cited across the open web. What no longer works is volume for its own sake. Relevance, editorial context, and entity association are what move rankings now.

Yes. Google has repeatedly confirmed links remain a ranking signal, while making clear that quality and relevance matter far more than quantity, and that link schemes are subject to both manual action and algorithmic devaluation. The practical implication is that a small number of genuinely relevant editorial links will outperform a large number of purchased ones.

White hat backlinks are links earned within Google’s guidelines: placed editorially by a publisher because the link adds value for their readers, on a site with a real audience, without payment for the link itself. They take longer to acquire than paid placements and they hold their value through algorithm updates, which is the entire point.

Most clients see early movement in 6 to 12 weeks – impressions and branded search first, then rankings on target commercial pages. Meaningful compounding usually appears from month four onward. Anyone promising ranking changes in 30 days is either working in an uncompetitive vertical or not being straight with you.

There is no universal number – it depends entirely on the gap between your referring domain profile and the sites currently ranking for your terms. That is what the link gap analysis establishes in week one. In practice, most of our clients run between [INSERT RANGE] placements per month, weighted toward fewer, higher-relevance links rather than volume.

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Domain Rating is a third-party estimate that can be manipulated, and no provider controls Google’s ranking output. What we do commit to is placement quality standards, link volume, indexation, and replacement of any link that is removed or deindexed within [INSERT PERIOD].

We monitor every placement automatically. If a link is removed, the page is deindexed, or the attribute changes within [INSERT PERIOD] of going live, we secure an equivalent or better replacement at no additional cost. You do not have to notice it first.

Our standard managed campaign has a [INSERT TERM] minimum, because link building genuinely does not demonstrate itself in 30 days and we would rather not take money for a campaign that cannot succeed. After the initial term, engagements continue month to month. Our one-time audit has no ongoing commitment at all.

Yes. We build for US, UK, Canadian, Australian, and European markets, and we source publishers within the market you are actually selling into. Where you need multi-market coverage, we split targeting by region rather than pooling everything into one prospect list.
